English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and enjoin what is good and forbid evil, and hasten, vying with one another, in good works. And these are among the righteous.
اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ
وہ اللہ پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور یومِ آخر پر اور اچھی باتوں کا حکم دیتے ہیں اور بری باتوں سے روکتے ہیں اور نیکیوں میں ایک دوسرے سے سبقت لے جانے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں۔ اور یہی ہیں وہ جو صالحین میں سے ہیں۔

Ils croient en Allāh et au Jour Dernier ; ils enjoignent le bien et interdisent le mal et s’empressent à qui mieux mieux à faire de bonnes oeuvres. Ceux-là sont du nombre des justes.

Sie glauben an Allah und an den Jüngsten Tag und gebieten das Gute und verwehren das Böse und wetteifern miteinander in guten Werken. Und sie zählen zu den Rechtschaffenen.

وہ اللہ (پر) اور آنے والے دن پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور نیکی کی ہدایت کرتے ہیں اور بدی سے روکتے ہیں اور نیک کاموں میں ایک دوسرے سے آگے بڑھتے ہیں اور یہ لوگ نیکوں میں سے ہیں۔

پس ہم نے اس کی دعا کو قبول کیا اور اسے یحییٰ عطا کیا اور ہم نے اس کی بیوی کو اس کی خاطر تندرست کر دیا۔ یقیناً وہ نیکیوں میں بہت بڑھ چڑھ کر حصہ لینے والے تھے اور ہمیں چاہت اور خوف سے پکارا کرتے تھے اور ہمارے سامنے عاجزی سے جھکنے والے تھے۔

Così Noi demmo ascolto alla sua preghiera e gli concedemmo Giovanni e guarimmo sua moglie per lui. Essi usavano gareggiare tra loro in opere buone e Ci invocarono con speranza e timore, e si umiliavano davanti a Noi.

Oímos pues su oración y le concedimos a Juan y curamos a su mujer para él. Solían emularse mutuamente en las buenas acciones y nos invocaron con esperanza y temor, humillándose ante Nosotros.

اور ہم نے اس کی دعا کو سنا اور اس کو یحییٰ عطا کیا اور اس کی بیوی کو اس کی خاطر تندرست کر دیا۔ وہ سب لوگ نیکیوں میں جلدی کرتے تھے اور ہم کو محبت اور خوف سے پکارتے تھے اور ہماری خاطر عجز کی زندگی بسر کرتے تھے۔

The verse shows that from a spiritual point of view Zachariah’s family was an ideal one.

پس ہم نے اس کی دُعا قبول کی اور اسے یحییٰ عطا کیا اور اس کی بیوی کو اس کے لیے درست کر دیا یہ لوگ نیکی کے کاموں میں دَوڑ دھوپ کرتے تھے اور ہمیں رغبت اور خوف کے ساتھ پکارتے تھے، اور ہمارے آگے جھکے ہوئے تھے

So We answered him, and bestowed on him John, and We set his wife right for him; truly they vied with one another, hastening to good works, and called upon Us out of yearning and awe; and they were humble to Us.

Commentary:
The verse purports to say that the good works which lead a people to real success are those which are mentioned in the preceding four verses and not, as the disbelievers think, the wealth and numbers of one’s party and group. The true believers not only do all these good works with the best of their power and capacity but try to excel each other in doing good to others.

Commentary:
